Chris Scammell is Chief Operations Officer at Conjecture, an AI Safety startup based in London. He shares responsibility for strategic, governance, and technical direction with the C-suite. Chris has a BA in Computer Science, Anthropology and Philosophy (Summa Cum Laude) from Colby College.

 

Chris previously worked as an Associate in the Office of the COO at D. E. Shaw in New York, and spent time living in a Buddhist monastery in Canada. Immediately before Conjecture he was working on conceptual alignment research that formed the foundation of the “Simulators” frame of LLMs.
