Mandela Patrick is the Chief Executive Officer of Optimatik. Previously, he did a PhD at the University of Oxford, as Rhodes Scholar, in the world famous VGG computer vision group, where he pioneered research in multi-modal AI video and image representation learning. During his PhD, he was a research collaborator with Meta in their AI research department, where he researched core AI multi-modal algorithms for the IG Reels Recommendation system. His work has been cited over 1000 times, and he has published at the major AI/ML conferences including NeurIPS, ICCV, ICLR, and NAACL. Before Oxford, he earned a BA honors degree in Computer Science from Harvard College in 2018 with a specialization in machine learning.
