Dr Cecilie Steenbuch Traberg

Dr Cecilie Steenbuch Traberg is an Assistant Professor at Copenhagen Business School and a psychological scientist studying the psychology of influence and technology. Her research examines how people decide what and whom to trust in digital information environments, with a particular focus on misinformation, persuasion, online influence, and human–AI interaction.

She received her PhD from the University of Cambridge, during which she was a visiting researcher at Harvard University and Princeton University. Her work bridges academic research and real-world challenges surrounding emerging technologies, and she has collaborated with organisations including NATO’s Strategic Communications Centre of Excellence on understanding and countering digital influence and disinformation.

Her current research investigates how generative AI is changing the information environment, including how people respond to AI-generated advice and persuasion, how AI affects perceptions of credibility and truth, and the implications of increasingly social and human-like AI systems for individuals and society. In 2026, she was recognised as one of Denmark’s 100 Women in AI.
