Giles Pratt
Global Head of IP/Data & Co-Head of AI Practice, Freshfields
Giles joined Freshfields nearly 25 years ago, and heads its global IP/Data practice and co-leads its international AI practice, which is recognised in legal directories as a global market leader. His practice focusses on tech and transforming sectors, and he is an experienced adviser on AI regulatory and AI-related IP, privacy, cybersecurity and contractual matters. He is also a regular adviser to boards on their adoption of AI, and on AI governance across listed companies. In addition to his AI practice, he is closely involved in Freshfields’ own AI strategy, including how the firm leverages AI and other innovations to enhance client service.
Giles is a founding member of the City of London Law Society Data Committee and the International Business and Diplomatic Exchange AI Committee, has contributed Ada Lovelace thought leadership on data and trust, and regularly engages with government departments and tech trade bodies on AI and tech topics.
