Sam Stockwell

Sam Stockwell is a Senior Research Associate at the Centre for Emerging Technology and Security (CETaS), part of the Alan Turing Institute. His research examines how AI is reshaping a wide range of societal harms — including election interference, terrorism and violent extremism, disinformation and foreign influence operations, child safety, fraud and cybercrime.

Sam’s work has been widely cited across national and international media, including the BBC, Sky News, the Financial Times and The Economist, and he has given a TEDx talk on what AI-generated content means for our ability to tell fact from fiction.

Before joining the Turing, Sam worked on emerging technology research at RAND. He holds an MA in Conflict, Security and Development from King’s College London and a BA in Politics from the University of East Anglia.
