Stephen Almond

Stephen Almond is Vice President of Policy and Consulting at the Centre for Information Policy Leadership (CIPL), where he leads global collaboration with business and regulators on data, AI and digital governance.

Previously Executive Director at the UK Information Commissioner’s Office, Stephen led interventions on AI, adtech, children’s privacy and emerging technologies that drove major product changes by global technology firms.

He is recognised internationally for his leadership in technology governance, named by POLITICO as one of the “14 people who matter in UK AI policy” and by Apolitical as one of the “World’s 50 Most Influential People Navigating Disruption”.

Earlier in his career, Stephen founded the World Economic Forum’s programme on regulatory innovation, following a decade of senior roles in the UK Government.
