Tom is a Director at Faculty Science Ltd, one of the UK's leading AI and Machine Learning firms, leading its extensive work across government and public sector. This includes overseeing Faculty's work as data science partner to several UK Government departments; helping to build the Defence AI Centre; building the UK's Counter Disinformation Platform using NLP technology; and more recently overseeing several live deployments of LLMs and other Generative AI.

 

Before Faculty, Tom was a Senior Civil Servant in the UK Government, including Head of Strategy at the Department for Education and Adviser to PM David Cameron on Economic Affairs and Technology, and originally trained as an economist.
